Small Cost Big Fun Christmas 01

Small Cost Big Fun Christmas

Some comedians make good money, but most of us do it for the laughs, not the big bucks. Don’t get me wrong, I’d take the big bucks, if anyone offered them! Anyway, no offers so far, but who knows what 2019 might bring? For this year though, the budget is tight, so my daughter and I are planning to have a small cost, big fun, Christmas. If you have any suggestions, let me know!

Small Cost Big Fun Christmas Cookies

Okay, here’s the first thing that we can do, without smashing open a piggy bank. We’ll head to the grocery store, and get a pack of those slice and bake cookies, with fancy Christmas designs in them.

Well, I haven’t looked for those cookies yet, but I hope our local store has some. I’ve seen Easter and and Halloween ones, so they must have Christmas ones too.

Oh, they do have Christmas – I found these Christmas tree ones on the Pillsbury website. Let’s hope they have them here in Canada too.

There are 24 cookies in the pack, so that’s perfect – 20 for me, and 4 for my daughter. Or maybe 18 for me and 6 for her – I don’t want to be greedy.

If those cookies aren’t available here, we’ll just get slice and bake sugar cookies, and make those. Or Snickerdoodles! Do they have those – they’re my favourites!

Eat All the Cookies

We don’t have a special pan for baking cookies, but I’m sure that the pizza pan would work just as well, right? We’ll slice and bake our cookies, and then eat all of them! Who will stop us? Nobody! I’m the adult here, and if I don’t think it’s a bad idea to eat all the cookies, then nobody will.

While we eat the cookies, for our small cost big fun Christmas, we can watch Elf. Buddy the Elf would certainly approve of us eating a big pile of Christmas cookies. Do you remember what he ate in that movie? Piles and piles of sugary things, with sugary syrup poured on them, for extra sweetness. I’m pretty sure that Buddy the Elf drank maple syrup, and/or chocolate sauce, with every meal.

Here’s a short clip from that scene in the movie, in case you don’t remember it.

OMG! I just found Elf slice and bake cookies – it’s like a message from Buddy the Elf, saying “Yes, you should totally eat all the cookies. For breakfast”

If you can’t find Elf on television, get a DVD instead, so you can watch it anytime. Or, for even more fun, get the sing & cheer along version of Elf.

After we recover from our Christmas cookie sugar coma, what should we do next? What Christmas fun would fit a comedian’s budget?

I’m sure we’ll think of something awesome, and meanwhile, we’ll be eating delicious Christmas cookies.
