Jay’s Bad Jokes for National Cheeseball Day

Jay's Bad Jokes for National Cheeseball Day

Here at DogLeash Comedy, we love a cheesy joke, so we’re excited to celebrate National Cheeseball Day today, April 17th. Did you know that today is also Haiku Poetry Day? That’s the perfect excuse to share some cheesy poems too.
Wait! Come back! As a special bonus, at no additional cost to you, I’m also throwing in a cheese song!

Cheeseballs or Cheese Balls

When you hear “cheese balls”, do you think of bite-sized puffy snacks? Here’s a link to some of those cheese ball snacks on Amazon.

Or, when you hear “cheeseballs”, do you picture a 5-pound ball of cheese, with a fancy coating, plopped in the middle of a party table? Is it surrounded by crispy crackers and crunchy vegetables? Yum!

I think you have to make those cheese balls on your own, instead of buying one from Amazon. This Classic Cheese Ball recipe looks easy to prepare, so take a look at it, if you’d like to make one.

Anyway, I think we can safely celebrate both kinds of cheeseballs today, so let’s get started.

Poems for National Cheeseball Day

Next, because today is also Haiku Poetry Day, here are a couple of cheeseball-themed Haiku poems. I included a limerick, in case you prefer that type of cheesy poem.

Haiku #1

Tasty cheeseball with
Crunchy crackers and veggies
Gooey goodness, yum!

Haiku #2

Nutty ball of cheese,
So beautiful and tasty
I will eat it all

Limerick #1

There once was a cheese known as Cheddar,
Its sharpness made everything better.
On a sandwich or toast,
I love it the most,
For a grade, it would get the “A” letter

Cheese Song for National Cheeseball Day

Finally, this video  is a gouda choice for Cheeseball Day. Here is Tim Minchin, singing about cheese, for an impressive 6 minutes and 40 seconds. He was performing with The Heritage Orchestra, live at the Royal Albert Hall.

Minchin is a British-Australian comedian, actor, musician, poet, writer, composer, and songwriter. Among other things, he wrote the music and lyrics for Matilda the Musial. He wrote additional music and songs for last year’s film adaptation of the Matilda musical.

Anyway, if the Cheese song makes you feel blue, or if you get feta up with the video, then don’t listen to the “hole” song. Just go ahead and Swiss to a different song, that sounds grater. (Too many cheese puns?)

To sing along with Tim Minchin, you can get the lyrics from the Genius site.
