October 23rd is National TV Talk Show Host Day, and Johnny Carson was one of the best! His comedy skills always shone through, starting with his opening monologue every night. He was better than many of the stand-up comedians who appeared on his show!
This video with an amazing dog playing Jenga isn’t funny, but it is super impressive!
I compared it to some other so-called Jenga playing dogs, just to be sure it was as mighty a feat as it appeared to be, and this dog is definitely playing at another level!!
October 16th is Global Cat Day, so today’s funny dog video features an annoying cat. That’s probably a redundant description though – all cats take pride in being annoying. And yes, I know this because we have two adorable cats, but sometimes they can be real jerks! Love you, kitties!
Usually, a human is holding the dog’s leash, but in this short video, you’ll see a dog leash controlled by a cat. Were they tangled up accidentally, or was this an evil plan by the cat overlord?
“No walk for you today, Sammy! Stay here with me, and do my bidding.”
As you can see, the video ended quickly, and I hope they helped poor, confused Sammy get free from that controlling cat, as soon as possible.
Who’s in charge at your house? Is it you? Or your dog? Or the cat? Or does everybody think they’re in charge?
Because of an injury as a very young puppy, Noodles the dog can’t use her back legs, but she has a doggy wheelchair to help her get around. Now, Noodle can go hiking with her adoptive parents, and as you can see in this video, she loves it.
Bill Burr is one of the greats. Family friendly content isn’t abundant, but as Autumn approaches, I think we can all relate to a day at the local fair.
A game I like to play at large festivals/fairs etc., is to stand at the front of a line I have no need to be in, and watch people throw adult tantrums.
Another fun idea is to go in a group, and have everyone wear matching “STAFF” t-shirts. I’ll try and record some of that this fall.
Oh, yeah.. Bill Burr.
I, like many, was first exposed to Burr when he appeared on The Chapelle Show. He has since released four hour-long specials, and is on the road “writing” his fifth. He also created F is For Family, an R- rated, animated sitcom on Netflix
Bill sees the humour in the nonsense of our world, and his place in it. Some comedians are only funny on stage, but Burr is not one of those comedians. Some of the best Burr moments have come during interviews, and his handling of hecklers in Philadelphia, though not appropriate for this site, was epic.
If you want to learn more about the man, please take a peek at Bill’s website.
The Irish dancing dog in today’s video obviously doesn’t have four left feet. It’s hard enough for humans to learn Irish step dancing, so I don’t know how someone managed to teach a dog that skill!
I just saw that this year’s awards have been announced, for the Funny Wildlife Photography 2018 contest. Unfortunately, there aren’t any funny dogs among the winners, but other animals can be hilarious too.
Too bad I didn’t have any funny photos of my pet turtle, Pedro. He doesn’t have much of a sense of humour, and always looks rather serious.
Good boy, Pedro. 12/10
Funny Wildlife Photography Winners 2017
There isn’t a compilation video with this year’s winning photos on YouTube yet, but I found this collection of the 2017 winners from last year.
I’ll post this year’s video, if it’s available later. I’m sure the quality goes up every year, so the latest photos should be even better than the photos that won last year.
In the meantime, I’ll keep an eye on Pedro, to see if he every does anything funny.
It isn’t always great being an overachiever! I learned that lesson early in my academic career, and have since exploded into mediocrity. Here’s an overzealous puppy jump:
You have to know that, somewhere off-screen, there is another dog that that this one is trying to impress.
Alright folks, day 2, post 2, brings you… COMEDY!!
Watch Steve Hofstetter explain why he thinks dogs are smarter than kids in this short clip:
Well… he’s not wrong.
And, guess what?
He is responsible for launching a comedy grant fund, in honour of his father, which endeavours to cover the living expenses of one comedian for an entire year.
